Subsequent attempts just bring up the spinny-icon. When I first try to install it after rebooting, it does prompt me to verify id with face unlock, and then spinny-icon pops up. Switching to a different network connection (previously on my own wifi, but switched to tethered wifi on my phone).Ĭhecking storage space (I've used 58GB out of my device's 256GB) Killing all running apps (swipe up from bottom of screen and hold, then swipe away each app individually) Rebooting the iPad (hold down power+volume until 'Power off' popup comes up, click it, then turn back on) This is on a brand-new 12.9" 256GB iPad Pro. If I were on an Android, I would load up adb and look at system logs to see what's up, but I am unaware of a similar way to debug issues on an iPad. However whenever I tap "Get" to install it, the spinny-icon pops up for about half a second, and then the "Get" button immediately reappears. I should note, that when I view the app in the app store from this iPad, under "Compatibility", it says "Works on this iPad". The app I'm having trouble with is called "Alight Motion". I have tried installing other apps, and they seem to install just fine. I'm experiencing an odd issue with a SPECIFIC app. Issue installing a specific app I'm newish to iOS and iPadOS (coming from a long line of Androids). I'd be grateful for any suggestions and feedback if anyone else has experienced this with the Hue app or any other app. My payment info is all up to date and I've had no problems downloading other apps, though, again, this app is free, so I can't for the life of me figure out what is going on. I know the app is able to be download from the appstore by other users because I've checked in various forums.ĭoes anyone know why this would be happening with this one particular app and what I might be able to try to fix the problem? As I mentioned, I would just resign to using the 3rd party apps for Hue control except that I've found that the official Hue app is important to have for bridge updates among other things. I've had an iPhone since 2007 and never experienced this particular problem. I also signed out of iTunes and tried a forced reboot and then signed in again. I've tried downloading/installing on a different wi-fi network and I've tried downloading/installing the app using cellular data. So far, I've tried logging in and out of iTunes in Settings. I don't get any sort of "Error" message, it just fails to install the app and the progress circle turns back into a "Get" link. The blue "Get" link by the App icon in store turns into a grey circle.Īnd then the grey circle just turns back into a blue "Get" link It says "Processing", then "Done" with the blue check mark above it Since I switched to my new ID, every time I try to download the app this is what happens: With my old ID I had it successfully downloaded and installed on my phone. The Philips Hue app is a free app, and it is critical to have (even if you have other Hue-friendly 3rd party apps) if you have Philips bulbs/lighting set-up in your home, as Philips bridge updates etc. Since doing so I've had no trouble downloading any of the apps I had previously with my new ID EXCEPT the official PHILIPS HUE app. I have an iPhone X, I'm on iOS 11.2.1-soon after receiving my iPhone X in November, I had to change my iTunes ID completely due to some security issues (my Apple ID remained the same).
